What is Cable Bus?
Cable Bus is a power distribution system using multiple parallel conductors braced in a rigid enclosure. Each conductor is insulated and fully continuous from source to load. A standard range of cable bus systems are available from 600V to 218kV and up to 10,400 amps. However, cable bus systems are adaptable and can be constructed to suit a customer’s particular requirements.
How Cable Bus Compares to Bus Duct and Cable Tray
The most common products compared to Cable Bus are non-segregated phase bus duct and cable tray. Cable bus is a more dependable, cost-effective, versatile, and maintenance-free power distribution system than cable tray or Bus Duct in both indoor and outdoor installations of low to medium voltage (600V.69kV), high amperage (1000A – 8000A) power distribution systems.
The cable bus is well suited for connecting a transformer to switchgear, switchgear to an automatic transfer switch, or equipment to any kind of backup system. Cable buses are versatile and can be used on solar farms, wind farms, data centers, hospitals, dams, schools, wherever reliable power distribution is required.
